Globe Valves are an affordable way to regulate or control the flow of liquids, gases and steam through a piping system. Their distinctively spherical body shape makes them the ideal choice for controlling or regulating liquids, gases and steam flow rates; their maximum allowable working pressure rating allows them to come in various sizes; these valves work by creating a seal through an orifice perpendicular to pipe axis using an obturator (disc obturator/piston), connected directly to an actuator via stem/actuators connection which moves stem/disc closer/farther from seat allowing iterations or closing and opening/closing capability of this type of valves.
Globe Valves consist of several components, such as a bonnet, spherical body that houses its components, disc, which fits into its seat within said body, and regulator. The latter can be adjusted either vertically or by changing its distance from said seat - controlling fluid flow through it by changing how far up or down it moves on its track. Furthermore, due to the unique spherical body design of Globe Valves when closed they provide better leak-resistance than other types of valves when closed, providing enhanced leak resistance.
Globe Valves offer significant resistance to fluid flow and experience an exponential pressure drop when fully opened compared to other valve types like gate valves that offer less restriction when completely opened. This characteristic makes them an ideal solution for controlling or restricting media flow while partially open; their gradual starting and stopping action helps reduce water hammer.
Finding the appropriate Globe Valve for your application depends on its media type, temperature requirements and other variables. Shunlin offers an assortment of sizes to meet these needs - with both ANSI 125 and 250 ratings to meet any conceivable need - our spherical body valves come equipped with threaded flanges for easy installation as well as various connection methods including flanged, welded or screwed connections; additional options for manual, pneumatic or electric actuation provide spring return or non-spring return fail safe actuators - with spring return or non-spring return fail safe actuators to complete our collection of offerings!
Consideration must be given to both the operating environment and the selection of suitable material for valves, as well as selecting an effective means of actuation and end connections. Before choosing a valve rated to handle these conditions, it is necessary to assess both pressure and temperature conditions within your piping system. Make sure that you understand the fluid you will be moving as some materials may corrode or degrade certain types of metals, which will ensure long-term performance and reliability from your Globe Valve.
